In 2019 four students at our school worked on a water saving project in their Independent Learning Skills group. As a part of the project the four students, Luke Douglas, William Monk, Finn Fleming and Jayden Huang submitted an application to the Australian Government Department of Education Local School Community fund for the installation of a water tank to assist with water saving around the maintenance of our school ovals.
The water tank collects the water from our covered playing surface near the school hall. Overflow from the tank is directed to our school wetlands area.
We can happily announce that the project they started has finally been completed, this project has taken a significant amount of time due to NSW Education maintenance requirements and COVID delays.
The school community is looking forward to the benefits of this fantastic initiative from the students that wouldn't have been possible without the support of the Australian Government Department of Education Local School Community fund.
